Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja and Nickson Kiprotich, who according to the Nation is Deputy President William Ruto’s preferred choice.

Speculation is also rife that Nairobi Metropolitan Services Director-General Mohamed Badi, would be best-placed to lead Nairobi after the recent changes he has overseen at NMS.

Such an arrangement is not alien since the handshake came into being, with the two parties striking a similar deal in August when Mr Mutura was supported by ODM in return for deputy speaker’s position.
