The former county boss has opposed the vetting of Anne Kananu as deputy governor and wanted the appointment of acting governor Benson Mutura reversed.
Kananu, a city politician who was nominated as Deputy Governor by Sonko, received a reprieve after the petition barring her appointment was withdrawn.
Peter Agoro, who had petitioned a Nairobi court in January 2020 to stop Kananu’s assumption of office filed a motion to withdraw the petition on January 4, 2021.
The anti-corruption court on January 7, 2020, formally withdrew the petition filed by Agoro.
The governor, represented by his lawyer Harrison Kinyanjui, had opposed the withdrawal of the case and filed a cross-petition.
However, Justice Hedwig Ongundi, indicated that the petition had not been paid for and was not before her, hence, she could not make any directions.
