Latest Leak Unclothes Samsung Galaxy A52 and A72 For Today’s Unpacked

Samsung is replacing the A51 and A71 from 2020 with new releases today, having scheduled the event a few days ago.

The successors, named the A52 and A72, have been leaked extensively, and there are even YouTube unboxing videos about them. Heck, we have even seen some marketing materials about the handhelds from reliable tipsters.

One thing that we should know is that the phones will be launched in Kenya too, and we expect them to hit store shelves as soon as possible.

And from what we have gathered from leaks, the phones look the same from almost all angles, save for size. They have the same paint coat – blue, black, white, and purple, which makes it hard to separate them unless you handle them.

The module that houses the cameras is the same too with four lenses. However, the A72 supposedly has a superior camera with a 3X optical zoom lens.

The camera specs for the A52 have also been revealed. The successor of the A51, which was one of the hottest and highest-sold Samsung phones of 2020, features a 64 MP mains cam, a 12 MP ultra-wide, a 5 MP depth sensor and a 5 MP macro snapper.

However, we do not know the camera specs of the A72, yet (could be 64, 8, 12, 5 MP).

Nevertheless, both phones’ camera systems will be equipped with OIS, a rarity for the A-series.

As said, the phones have different screen sizes: 6.5” for the A52 and 6.7” for the A72 – which is the same as the A71 from 2020.

Battery sizes are also different at 4500 mAh and 5000 mAh for the A52 and A72, respectively.

We also know that the A52 RAM should start at 6 GB with 128 GB of storage, The A72’s memory questions are still a grey area.

Another rarity for the A-series for this year is that the duo appears to include an Ingress Protection rating at 67.

Both phones have 5G options.

Powering the A52 is the S720G chip that also hums in the likes of the OPPO Reno4 and Reno5 (A72 probable competitor). The A72 is said to be powered by a S750G chip.

We will know more once the devices go live later today.
