Husband Surrenders After Slashing Wife’s Lover

  • A man surrendered to the police moments after he allegedly hacked his wife’s love to death with a machete.

    Police said that Leonard Keiga surrendered after he slashed James Magoma Matundura with a machete at a hotel in Kijauri town in Nyamira county as he was taking tea.

    It is reported that Keriga, slashed Matundura on Saturday evening, March 27 – on grounds that he was having an affair with his wife.

    Nyamira County Commissioner Amos Mariba, confirmed the incident revealing that the deceased was taking tea at the hotel before he met his untimely death.

    “Preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased was involved in a love affair with the wife of the suspected killer. The weapon has been marked for presentation before the court as an exhibit,” said Mariba.

    According to Mariba, after attacking the deceased, the suspect then fled from members of the public who were baying for his blood – and found refuge at the Matutu Critical Infrastructure Protection Unit (CIPU).

    Sources indicate that Matundura had on numerous occasions been warned to keep off the married woman, but he disregarded the warnings.

    Meanwhile, the police have arrested Eric Mwenda in connection with the murder of Celestine Nduku, a 26-year- old who was found dead in her apartment at Kambi ya juu in Isiolo County.

    Eric Mutwiri Mwenda who was the main suspect had been on the run and was arrested in Nanyuki where he was living with his cousin Earnest Kiburi, who was also been taken into custody.

    Nduku’s body was discovered by her two children in a pool of blood with several stab wounds.

    A lady by the name of Monicah Wavinya, said to be Nduku’s sister, took to social media asking for help in tracing Mwenda in connection with the murder of his wife Celestine Nduku.

    “My friends help me tag DCI Kenya to help me find this man that has just murdered my sister. He has been reported twice for beating my sister and today he has done the worst,” read part of the post.
