The government has begun a crackdown on immigrants of Asian descent who are thought to have entered the country illegally.
The majority of these immigrants are thought to be Pakistanis.
On the morning of September 30, police and immigration agents began enforcing directives issued by Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho to deport illegal immigrants.
The operation began at the Waiyaki Real Gardens on Waiyaki Way, which was hosting a large number of Asians.
PS Kibicho has previously addressed the issue of foreigners in Kenya after Kenyans sought answers in response to footage showing municipal buses transporting huge numbers of immigrants to various city estates.
The bulk of these visitors are from Pakistan and have legitimate transit visas to Saudi Arabia that are given on arrival, according to the Interior PS.
He confirmed that Kenya has seen an increase in the number of Asian people transiting in the last four months.
According to the Secretary of the Interior, the government would be rigorous in the future and limit the number of foreigners traveling through the nation.
