In what is set to go down in history as one of the most unbelievable and surprising gestures ever from a politician, one of the country’s leading businessmen who contested for public office on the platform of job creation whether he won or lost has now gotten young men and women employed four years after losing the fierce political duel of 2017. This is happening against the backdrop of failed campaign promises and unfulfilled pledges from politicians who won in the last general election.

The employment drive was revealed by business magnate, Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop, popularly known as Buzeki while appearing on K24’s weekly political show hosted by the station’s presenter, Daniel Kituu.

He revealed that he had spent the day flagging off hordes of young men and women for who he had successfully organised employment in Middle Eastern countries, mentioning Bahrain and Qatar. He shared with his host and viewers that this initiative traced back to 2017 when he promised employment to the residents of Uasin Gishu during his campaigns. The businessman explained that his promises for jobs wasn’t pegged on Uasin Gishu residents voting for him, but rather a responsibility he believed he owed to his county-mates, regardless of whether he won or lost.

Buzeki said that presently his energies are focused on clinching the Uasin Gishu governor seat after the incumbent, Jackson Mandago, retires next year. Having decamped from Jubilee party and joined Isaac Ruto’s Chama Cha Mashinani, CCM, only for CCM to join DP William Ruto’s camp, Buzeki who has now been left without a party after quitting as the CCM Secretary General hinted at starting his own party.

He said the biggest problem with the current crop of parties in the country is that they are either out to fool their supporters into voting for them on the basis of false promises which are later on never fulfilled, or to swindle some of its supporters who have resources into supporting them financially.
