Days after it emerged that former Kenya National Union of Teachers Secretary General and nominated Orange Democratic Movement party MP Wilson Sossion had joined DP Ruto’s camp, new details are now emerging on the intrigues that played out behind the scenes between Sossion, Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto. Sossion has now revealed that even as he was photographed meeting Ruto, he had just met his party boss Raila Odinga earlier. Sossion also disclosed what the issue was that the two discussed.
Sossion was speaking this while appearing on KTN’s News Hour where he was hosted by Ken Mijungu.
He revealed that it has never been in his nature to be hypocritical or sneaky, and that this was why, through out his process of joining DP Ruto’s camp, he did everything transparently and above board. He said that his meeting with Ruto wasn’t secretive. Apparently, not only did he inform his party leader of his intentions, but in fact even sought for his permission to proceed. Nevertheless, he declined to reveal what Raila said to him after he sought this permission.
Sossion claimed that he was approached by Bomet constituents who requested him to join DP Ruto. Reportedly, they were keen on electing him as their senator but needed him to run on a UDA ticket. He also said that they were the ones who advised him to seek his party leader’s permission first, and not do things sneakily.
Just this week, Sossion announced jumping ship to DP Ruto’s UDA.
Sossion said that the next general elections will be about the bottom-up economy which is being pushed by DP Ruto.
Describing Ruto as a brave and fearless politician, the politician who was nominated to parliament by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) under the leadership of Raila Odinga said that Ruto was the best suit to take over from President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“The choice of this model I can count you as amongst the few brave and fearless leaders to take that route in the African continent,” Sossion said.
He said that the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) was the best party that will sort a number of issues that Kenyans are facing for decades to come.
