Three police officers arrested for allegedly aiding escape of serial killer Masten Wanjala

Three police officers have been arrested for allegedly aiding the escape of self-confessed serial killer Masten Milimo Wanjala.

Police inspector Philip Mbithi, Police constable Boniface Mutuma, and Constable Precious Mwendwe are in lawful custody.

They were arrested by their colleagues from the Nairobi Regional Criminal Investigation office. They will be charged in court for aiding escape from lawful custody and neglect of official duty contrary to section 124 and 128 of the penal code respectively.

The self proclaimed killer, is said to have escaped unknown time on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.

Police said they had so far linked him to up to 14 murder incidents spanning from Nairobi, Machakos and western Kenya.

Wanjala was to be arraigned in court on 13th Wednesday but was reported missing I a police cell at Jogoo police station.
