Colorful launches line of RTX 3070 boards with customizable design

On the eve of winning a variant for laptops, the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, along with the traditional RTX 3070, has just won a new Colorful line. Called iGame Customization Series, the GPU family stands out for its look, which refers to Nvidia’s reference models, and for the possibility of customizing the look of the backplate with different magnetic covers included in the box.

RTX 3070 Customization Series line features customizable GPUs

Both cards have the known specifications of other models. The RTX 3070 brings 5888 CUDA cores, 46 RT Cores, 184 Tensor Cores and 8GB of GDDR6 RAM running at 14Gbps on a 256-bit interface. The RTX 3070 Ti employs 6,144 CUDA cores, 48 RT Cores, 192 Tensor Cores and 8 GB of GDDR6X RAM running at 19 Gbps with a 256-bit interface.

The differences are due to the clocks of the GPUs, which leave the factory with a modest overclock: the standard variant reaches 1,785 MHz, while the Ti version reaches 1800 MHz, speeds 3.5% and 1.7% higher than the reference , respectively. Enthusiasts can perform more advanced overclocks manually, as the two were also designed for the procedure, as the presence of the “OC” in the name suggests.

Despite this, the highlight of the news is the look, which mixes elements of the reference model manufactured by Nvidia itself, such as the cooling system that uses both sides of the board and the power supply with the new 12-pin connector, with the model iGame Bilibili Edition, developed in partnership with the homonymous Chinese social network and equipped with the same design — apparently, the contract was finalized and, to take advantage of the components, Colorful would have made simple changes in appearance.

The main one was carried out on the backplate: where there used to be art with the Bilibili mascot, now there is a smooth metal plate. In it, users can install one of the three magnetic covers included in the box, with Colorful’s own design. The system was designed not only to facilitate installation, but also to replace accessories at any time.

Price and availability

The new Customization Series boards are already listed on Colorful’s official website, but they still haven’t revealed their release date or price. It is expected that the novelties are exclusive to the Chinese market, although there is the possibility of both appearing unofficially here, as was the case with the Bilibili edition.
