Machakos governor Dr. Alfred Mutua is now coming out with startling revelations concerning the Deputy President, and efforts that were in place to undermine him. The Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader now claims that contrary to popular belief that the DP’s woes began after the March 2018 Handshake, as early as mid 2015 when Ruto was at the height of his power, there was a high-delegation meeting whose main agenda was Ruto, and how to take care of him.

In the statement that is likely to be dismissed as a red herring meant to distract from the personal problems that are currently facing him, the Machakos governor claimed that when Obama visited Kenya while still in power, top government officials were worried about the image of the DP, and how he was going to portray the country. Governor Mutua said that the poor image of the DP which has been tainted by accusations of corruption had top government officials worried that his proximity to Uhuru Kenyatta would be an embarrassment to State House, and the presidency.

Mutua was speaking while making an appearance on Citizen TV’s morning show, Daybreak, which was hosted by the station’s presenter Waihiga Mwaura. Others on the show alongside the Machakos governor were the Migori County Women Representative Pamela Adhiambo, former Kakamega senator Bonny Khalwale and Kiambu County Senator Kimani Wamatangi, who is also the Senate Chief Whip.

Mutua, while lambasting the DP for his battered image which has shamefully always been connected to corruption, disclosed that what was mainly discussed in the aforementioned meeting was how to stop the DP from attending the event at Kasarani where the American president was scheduled to give a speech.

Refusing to divulge more information concerning the meeting, Dr. Mutua said he wouldn’t speak much for now, but would disclose everything in the book which he is currently working on. Dropping the subject altogether, the governor didn’t reveal whether the book he is working on is a memoir on his life, or a dossier on his time in public service.
