KUCCPS accuses teachers of withholding student registration fees

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has raised concern over failure by some teachers to forward fees for placement of students to relevant institutions of higher learning.

CEO Dr. Agnes Mercy Wahome says some teachers are pocketing the 500 shillings fee paid by students for the exercise and as a result some students missing slots in colleges and universities

At the same time, KUCCPS is inviting applications from Kenyans for placement in public National Polytechnics, Technical Training Institutes and Technical and Vocational Training Colleges.

Dr. Wahome, said students admitted to this institutions will be funded partly by the government.

She said students who scored between grades E and C are eligible and will be awarded certificates and diplomas once they complete their training.

Under the hash tag “Leaving No Candidate Behind” the CEO said discrimination and stigma associated with lower grades will be eliminated

The application procedure is available on the KUCCPS website or KUCCPS service desks available in Nairobi (GPO), Mombasa, Kisumu, Nyeri, Garissa, Kitui, Eldoret, Kakamega, Meru and , Kitale.

The service is also available in Thika, Isiolo, Narok, Laikipia and Nakuru
