While in Kiambu last week, Ruto took on the county's governor James Nyoro whom he (Ruto) accused of supporting ODM leader Raila Raila.
Ruto was quoted faulting the governor for fronting "mtu wa kitendawili", while the Mt Kenya region could have spotted someone else to take over from President Uhuru Kenyatta.
On Monday, November 15, the deputy president was in Meru county, where he also faulted Governor Kiraitu Murungi for throwing weight behind Raila.

Such attacks have led to the pro-handshake politicians ganging up against Ruto, who is also facing imminent ouster from the ruling party during its scheduled National Delegates Convention (NDC) meeting later this month.
They also called on the Mt Kenya electorate to be wary and "learn from what they see".
As earlier reported, the Uhuru-led outfit will hold its NDC meeting on Tuesday of November 30 at Kasarani, Nairobi.
As stated by the party's secretary-general Raphael Tuju, the meeting will aim at restructuring the party's leadership and membership, review, formulate or approve all policies of the party and consider other matters referred to the NDC by the National Executive.
