Xiaomi 12 Pro: screen protector reinforces end of the four curved edges

Xiaomi is likely to abandon the Mi 11’s controversial four-edge curved display with the launch of the new Xiaomi 12 Pro, at least according to leaked photos of a device’s screensaver.

Rumors of this change surfaced in September and became increasingly evident over time. Now, photos taken by the site Gizmochina reveal the possible protective panel for the Xiaomi 12 Pro with a smaller size than the Mi 11’s screen and thinner edges.

We see in the photo above that the device will have slightly curved edges just on the sides, offering a remarkable effect, but not extreme like the Mi Mix Alpha prototype or the cell phone project whose screen drips along all four edges.

The glass is clearly smaller than the Mi 11’s screen, which has a 6.81-inch display. With that, the Xiaomi 12 Pro is expected to have a panel of approximately 6.6 inches.

The protective film also features the notch position to house the front camera, and is now centered on top of the display, as you can see below in barely perceptible detail.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro doesn’t have many details revealed so far, being expected only with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, the same chipset that will equip its brothers of the new line.

More recent leaks point out that the Xiaomi 12 could be announced on December 12th alongside the Xiaomi 12X, with release until the 28th of the same month. The Xiaomi 12 Pro and Xiaomi 12 Ultra models were not expected to be leaked.

More accurate information about the entire line should come out in the next few days.
