Intel Core i9 13900K leaks in first test tying with Ryzen 9 5950X

Scheduled for release in late 2022, Intel’s 13th generation Raptor Lake has just had its first leaked benchmark test. Courtesy of the renowned leaker KOMACHI_ENSAKA, the result is still quite preliminary, considering the distance to the official announcement of the family, but it already shows very promising numbers, in addition to reinforcing some aspects of the new chips already leaked.

Core i9 13900K leaks on first test

Intel’s new 13th generation CPU was found in Crossmark’s database, a test that assesses the computer’s overall performance, but little used in reviews. There is no direct mention of the component’s name, as the chip is still in the early stages of development, but the configurations recorded by the software suggest that it is the Core i9 13900K, an enthusiastic solution from the Raptor Lake family.

The processor features 24 cores and 32 threads, compared to the 16 cores and 24 threads of the Core i9 12900K — something that bolsters rumors that Intel may increase the low-power (E-Core) core count in its upcoming CPUs In this way, it is expected that the i9 13900K will bring 8 high-performance P-Cores with Hyper-Threading along with 16 E-Cores, thus totaling 32 threads. Despite being preliminary numbers, the results already draw attention, being very close to those offered by the Ryzen 9 5950X. As software optimizations and silicon enhancements are applied, the component is expected to outperform the Core i9 12900K by a good margin, which is still a long way off, considering the core count.

Intel Raptor Lake Enhances Alder Lake Line Performance

Still little known, the 13th generation of Raptor Lake processors should arrive as a supercharged version of the Alder Lake family, according to rumors. In addition to employing new high-performance Redwood Cove cores that would bring a higher rate of instructions per clock (IPC), the line would double the amount of E-Cores, despite maintaining the Gracemont architecture.
