The Game Awards 2021: Check out the top ads

In the early hours of Thursday (9) to Friday (10), The Game Awards 2021 revealed the big winners of the year and also featured many important announcements. In addition to awarding It Takes Two as Game of the Year, the event also featured a gameplay of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade, revealed Alan Wake 2, wonder woman, Among US VR and many other titles.

With an avalanche of story trailers, gameplays and new dates, the Kenyannews The main highlights of the TGA 2021 are listed below:

20. Hellblade II

After being announced at the 2019 Game Awards, the sequel to Senua’s Sacrifice received an unprecedented gameplay. In the video, we see the protagonist leading a group in combat against a giant, on a sinister beach. No release date has been announced so far, but it has been confirmed on Cloud Gaming, Xbox Game Pass, PC and Xbox Series X and Series S.

19. Star Wars: Eclipse

Another surprise was a new game from the beloved George Lucas franchise. In the cinematographic video, we see Yoda and several Jedi, confirming that the game will be set in the Era of the High Republic, before the second trilogy (I, II and III) of cinema.

18. Wonder Woman

The most powerful heroine in the DC universe is on her way to the gaming world by Monolith Productions, responsible for the franchise shadow of mordor. Only one teaser was presented, showing some details of the character, but without revealing dates and characters.

17. Destiny 2: The Witch-Queen

Bungie’s next big game expansion received a trailer for TGA 2021, which shows some of the gameplay you can expect and also a confrontation with the antagonist that gives the content its name.

16. Alan Wake II

After some rumors floating around on the internet, Remedy Entertainment confirmed the existence of the sequel through a teaser. In the presentation, the director said that the game will be more focused on horror, not just suspense. The game is scheduled for 2023 and will arrive on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S.

15. Horizon Forbidden West

Another teaser of Aloy’s new adventure across the West has been revealed. Overall, only a few new machines were introduced, such as a giant snake, an armadillo species and other creatures that hadn’t been highlighted. The video also shows the different environments that will be found. Horizon Forbidden West arrives on February 18, 2022 for PS4 and PS5.

14. Final Fantasy VII Remake on PC

After a period of exclusivity on PlayStation consoles, the Square Enix remake was confirmed to come to PC on December 16th. Only one teaser was presented, without announcing technical or gameplay news.

13. The Lord of Rings: Gollum

As previously announced, the character game from JRR Tolkien’s acclaimed franchise received a cinematic teaser, showing a bit of Gollum preventing visitors from entering his mountain. The game has not yet been released, but it will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

12. Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course

Entitled to live band performance, the platform game’s DLC has been confirmed for June 30, 2022 for PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One. A teaser featuring the new (and difficult) bosses was also presented.

11. Sonic Frontiers

The new game of the beloved hedgehog won a cinematographic video showing a little of the big world that can be explored. Scheduled for release in late 2022, Sonic’s next adventure seems to take him to a more realistic setting.

10. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

The first gameplay of the anti-hero game game was also announced during the TGA. In the video, we see all the power of Harlequin, Gunman, Captain Boomerang and King Shark, fighting enemies and even the Flash.

9. Forspoken

The new Square Enix franchise, developed by Luminous Productions, gained another cinematographic trailer, showing some brief details of the main story of the game and some gameplay features. The game will arrive for PC and PS5 on May 24, 2022.

8. Tiny Tina’s Wonderland

The already announced game of the remarkable character of borderlands got a fun new trailer focused on the story. The game arrives for PC and consoles on March 25, 2022.

7. Among US VR

After making its debut on consoles, it’s time for the multiplayer game to reach virtual reality platforms. Only one teaser was presented, showing the classic moment when the imposter kills a crew member, but now in first person.

6. Fall Guys + Jack’s Strange World

Skins from the popular Christmas movie will come to the jellyfish game. Dresses can be purchased or earned as challenge rewards between December 16th and 27th. Also, previously released skins will come back for a limited time.

5. Dune: Spice Wars

A real-time strategy game inspired by Frank Herbert’s work was revealed during the awards, but with only a teaser confirming early access for 2022.

4. The Plague Tale: Requiem

The new game in the survival franchise received a new trailer highlighting gameplay. The title resembles its predecessor, but with some extra actions in combat with enemies and, of course, an improved look.

3. Dying Light II

Parkour and survival in the apocalypse are returning to the island. This time, the game won a cinematographic trailer, showing a trio trying to escape the creatures while jumping between buildings.

2. Elden Ring

After awarding the game as the most anticipated, a new cinematographic trailer was revealed during the event. FromSoftware’s long-awaited video of the game showed a bit of history and the context in which the adventure takes place. The game will arrive on February 25, 2022 for consoles and PC.

1. Matrix Awakens

The digital experience ended the announcements of The Game Awards 2021. The demonstration made on the graphics engine Unreal Engine 5 is now available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
