NSE Daily Turnover Declines 24.9% to KSh 523.1 Million

Nairobi Securities Exchange(NSE) declined byn24.9% to KSh 523.1 Million from the previous sessions KSh 697.0 Million. The volume of shares also declined by 10.9% to 13 million from the previous session’s 14.6 Million.

Williamson Tea Kenya was the day’s top price gainer, rising by 9.9% to KSh 138.50 followed by HF Group which was up 5.9% to KSh 3.96; Kenya Re-Insurance Corporation which rose by 4.5% to KSh 2.32 and KenGen which gained 3.4% to KSh 4.27.

NSE Worst Performers and Prime Movers

The worst performers were led by Eaagads which declined by 5.5% to KSh 12.85; East African Cables which declined by 5.5% to KSh 1.21’; Crown Paints which declined by 3.2% to KSh 30.50 and Nairobi Business Ventures which declined by 2.2% to KSh 6.34.

Prime movers were led by Safaricom (9.5 Million) followed by Equity Group (1.8 Million), Kenya Power (403,800) and KCB Group (170,100).

The Nairobi All Share Index(NASI) was up 0.3% to 164.09 while the NSE 20 Share Index was up 0.6% to 1865.84 and the NSE 25 Share Index was up 0.3% to 3637.6

The Secondary Bonds market had a turnover of KSh 1.3 Billion from the previous KSh 1.8 Billion with total deals of 61 from the previous 51.
