‘Baba Christmas’ Hosts Orphans for Party at His Kisumu Home [PHOTOS]

  • The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader, Raila Odinga, hosted orphans at his Kisumu home for a Christmas party.

    Speaking to the press at the event, Raila stated that it was important for Kenyans to embody the Christmas spirit which is giving and making the needy feel they are part of the community.

    Raila, who dressed as Father Christmas, mingled with the kids who were invited to the party and also shared gifts with them as they sang and played games.

    The ODM leader on Friday, December 24, 2021, called on Kenyans to remember children who are disadvantaged during this festive season and give their time and other resources to help them.

    “These are orphaned children and those who are disadvantaged and we want to make them feel happy and part of the society. This is something that is charitable and it is done around the world.

    “It is also a day when we remember the birth of Jesus Christ and the life of Jesus Christ is a life of charity, sacrifice, giving and helping the needy,” the ODM leader stated.

    Later, Raila will be attending a street Christmas party organised by the County Government of Kisumu led by Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o.

    Reports have intimated that Raila will light the Christmas tree in Kisumu alongside Governor Nyong’o’.

    Later the county government plans to share food with the needy people who will be attending the event on Friday night, December 24.

    However, residents who are capable will have to buy food and drinks from vendors who have been allowed to sell during the event.

    Residents will also have to pay Ksh200 to access the venue that has been secluded for live band performances.

    The county government announced that it has closed three streets in Kisumu for two days as it holds the street Christmas bash.
