CAN 2021: four players from Cameroon positive for Covid-19

As the Africa Cup of Nations kicks off on January 9, Cameroon, the host country, announced that four of its players had tested positive for Covid-19. “Pierre Kunde Malong (Olympiakos), Jean Efala Konguep (Akwa United, Nigeria), Michaël Ngadeu Ngadjui (La Gantoise) and Christian Bassogog (Shanghai Shenhua) will continue their quarantine away from the group”, said the Cameroonian selection.

Eric Choupo-Moting, meanwhile, was forced to quit training on Thursday due to pain in his right knee. “The MRI performed immediately after discharge will tell more about the extent of the lesion and its possible unavailability.” The Bayern Munich striker had apparently arrived at the Indomitable Lions rally with this injury.
