Nyamira governor Amos Nyaribo has been considered to deputise ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi as the national deputy party leader.
In an address to journalists on Sunday, Mudavadi said the ANC party leadership is in consultation with the governor and an announcement will be made soon.
“As a way of appreciating what your governor is doing, we are in discussions to have Nyaribo as the ANC deputy party leader, who will help in moving the party agendas,” Mudavadi said.
The former vice president also supported governor Amos Nyaribo re-election citing his extraordinary performance in the short period he has been in office.
“What else do we want, we want leaders who have the peoples interest at heart and leaders who will use devolution as a tool to empower their residents. I urge you to support these two men (Governor Nyaribo and his deputy James Gesami) because they have done a good job,” he said.
