La Liga: Villarreal crushes Espanyol thanks to a quadruple from Yeremi Pino

This Sunday at 2 p.m., Villarreal (6th) received Espanyol Barcelona (14th) on behalf of the 26th day of La Liga. The formation of Unai Emery in yellow started the match in 4-4-2 while opposite, the Catalans in blue and white jersey evolved in 4-1-4-1. In an ultra-dominated start to the match by Villarreal, it was logical that they were the ones who opened the scoring, on a good cross from Estupiñan, Yeremi Pino headed in the right corner of the Barcelona goal (1-0, 14th ). The yellow submarine did not release the pressure and made the break on a badly cleared corner: it was still Yeremi Pino, well placed in the area, who deceived Diego Lopez (2-0, 21st). Espanyol did not see the light of day and suffered numerous attacks from the locals, who once again found the fault just before half-time, with Yeremi Pino once again taking over a ball badly repelled by the Catalan goalkeeper and registering his third personal goal (3-0, 45th).

Back from the locker room, Unai Emery’s men continued to put pressure on the Catalan side’s goal and it was Pino again who made the difference. The 19-year-old Spanish midfielder, launched in depth by Arnaut Danjuma, eliminated Lopez before pushing the ball into the empty goal and thus offered himself the first quadruple of his career (4-0, 53rd). On the hour mark when the locals slowed down, Espanyol took the opportunity to save the honor, Keidi Bare recovered the ball in the second and with a heavy strike deceived Rulli (4-1, 65th). Villarreal added a new goal at the end of the match: well launched in depth, Boulaye Dia perfectly adjusted the Espanyol goalkeeper (5-1, 86th). The resident of the Madrigal quietly ended the meeting and won logically (5-1). Thanks to this victory, Villarreal moved up to 5th in the standings, Espanyol remained 14th before the other matches of the day.
