NSE Daily Equity Turnover Rises 5% to KSh 208 Million.

The Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) recorded a 5% rise in Monday’s trading session with Equity turnover rising to Kes 208 million against the kes 109 million posted during the previous trading session.

The number of shares traded declined to 5 million during today’s trading session compared to the 6.3 million shares posted during Friday’s trading session.

The NSE All-Share Index was up 2.20 points to close at 159.09 while the NSE 20 Share Index gained 7.56 points to settle at 1868.07. Consequently, the NSE 25 Share Index picked up 24.17 points ending the day at 3618.42.

The Derivatives Market registered activity in the ABSA Single Stock Futures contract expiring on 16th June 2022, trading 2 contracts valued at Kes.24,000 at a price of Kes.12.43. This is against a closing price of Kes.12.55 posted by ABSA Bank Kenya in the spot market.

NSE Top Gainers and Losers

Transcentury Plc was the leading gainer during today’s trading session gaining 9.26% to kes 1.18 per share. Followed by Sasini Plc which picked up 7.54% to kes 19.25, Nairobi Securities Exchange rising 5.62% to kes 7.52. Flame Tree Group came out as the fourth gainer rising 5.22 to kes 1.21 per share.

The biggest loser was Umeme Plc shedding 8.66% to kes 6.12 per share followed by TP Serena which lost 7.17% to kes 11.65 per share, Bank of Kigali Group shed 6.46% to kes 27.50 which was closely followed by HF Group which lost 5.83% to close that day at kes 2.91.

Safaricom was the day’s biggest mover with 2M shares valued at Kes.84M changing hands at between Kes.34.95 and Kes.35.95; this represented 42.18% of the day’s traded value.

The Bond market had bonds worth Kes.4.5Bn transacted.
