The highest-spending championship in the transfer window, the Premier League is logically the league that pays agents the best.
The Premier League has once again confirmed that it is the biggest spending league in the world of football. This winter, the English league, for example, spent €306 million on the transfer market, or a third of all the money spent by international teams. You will therefore not be surprised to learn that the agents greatly appreciate working with Her Majesty’s clubs.
the Times has just relayed information from the English federation indicating that the players’ representatives shared approximately €322 million in commissions between February 2, 2021 and January 31, 2022! Manchester City was the most generous team with €41.56 million paid to agents and intermediaries. An amount that can be explained with the record transfer of Jack Grealish.
Watford pays well
Manchester United is second with €34.43m. The Red Devils are ahead of reigning European champions Chelsea. The Blues paid out €33.48 million. Expenses that could become a distant memory as long as the club is owned by blacklisted Roman Abramovich. Liverpool (€26.25m) and Arsenal (€22.12m) come next.
It should be noted, however, that the Watford team (18th in the ranking) is the seventh most profitable team with €14.93 million paid to agents. Finally, Newcastle position in sixteenth place. The Saudi version of the Magpies only paid out €9.15 million, mainly for Bruno Guimarães, but there is no doubt that this sum will skyrocket from next summer!
