A man’s unrelenting battering of his wife ended in his death after a neighbour at whose house the scared woman sought refuge killed him.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) George Kinoti, the incident happened at Kakemer location, Busia county.
Fabian Omanyala was beating his wife on Monday night when she escaped and sought refuge at Robert Amukule’s house, their neighbour.
“What started as a domestic feud quickly degenerated to a torrent of blows and kicks from Fabian Omanyala, as he assaulted his 53-year-old wife,” Kinoti said in a tweet.
After the wife could no longer bear the battering, she sought refuge at Amukule’s homestead but her unrelenting husband followed her their, baying for her blood.
Amukule quickly came to her aid and launched a projectile from a catapult, killing Omanyala on the spot.
The killer object which could not be immediately identified, hit the deceased on the forehead sending him sprawling to the ground.
Efforts by well wishers to save his life by rushing him to the nearby Korosiendet dispensary bore no fruits as he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Amukule immediately went into hiding and is currently being sought by Teso based detectives.
