Nairobi Securities Exchange(NSE) posted a daily equity turnover of KSh 241 Million from Monday’s KSh 181 Million, an increase of 33.1%.
The number of shares traded stood at 7.4 Million against 7.89 Million recorded on Monday.
The top price gainer was Flame Tree Group, which was up 7.50% from KSh 1.20 to KSh 1.29 while the worst performer was Sameer which declined by 9.54% to KSh 2.41 from KSh 2.18.
The Derivatives Market registered activity in the Safaricom Single Stock Futures contract expiring in 16th June 2022, trading 7 contracts valued at KSh 250,000 at a price of KSh35.74. This is against a closing price of KSh35.45 posted by Safaricom in the spot market.
The Banking Sector had shares worth KSh 140M transacted which accounted for 58.03% of the day’s traded value. Equity Group Holdings actively moved 1.4M shares valued at KSh69M at between KSh49.20 and KSh50.00. KCB Group moved 1.1M shares valued at KSh 48M and closed at KSh43.55.
BK Group remained steady at KSh 30.00 with shares worth KSh 11.5M transacted.
Safaricom had 2.68M shares valued at KSh94.6M transacted at between KSh35.30 and KSh 35.80; this represented 39.18% of the day’s traded value.
The NSE All Share Index(NASI) was up 0.37 points to 158.61 while the NSE 20 Share Index was up 6.03 points to close at 1855.92. The NSE was up 6.58 points to 3588.73.
The Secondary Bonds market had a turnover of KSh 5.8 Billion from 114 deals compared to KSh 6.5 Billion from 114 deals.
