Journalist Njoroge accepts defeat in Njoro UDA nominations

Former Kameme FM presenter Njogu Wa Njoroge has accepted defeat after losing in the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) nominations for the Njoro parliamentary seat.

Through his official Facebook page, he congratulated the incumbent MP Charity Kathambi and promised to work with her to ensure she wins in the August 9 polls.

Njogu appreciated his supporters, noting that he respects the decision of the Njoro people.

“Our ambition, vision and dream for Njoro have been overtaken by a better vision. We are satisfied. I wish Hon Charity Kathambi all the best,” he said.

He showed gratitude to those who supported him financially, prayed and wished him well.

On Thursday, Deputy President William Ruto expressed his happiness and satisfaction with the UDA primaries.

Ruto said the exercise was largely successful despite the logistical challenges and incidents of violence reported in some areas.

The DP said that he played a ‘minimum’ supervisory role in the countywide exercise that attracted about 5000 aspirants.

“I assured UDA aspirants that I will take personal responsibility to ensure that the nominations are democratic and credible,” he said.

The DP said the exercise would be undertaken afresh in polling stations that suffered disruptions.
