Bayern: Joshua Kimmich not against a departure in the future

Interviewed by SoFoot, Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich has spoken about his future in Bavaria. The 27-year-old German, who is with the Munich club until June 2025, explained that he wanted to leave Germany one day to play abroad. “It would be an interesting challenge. I don’t know what will happen in a few years, we’ll see. I have a lot of fun here, but I reflect on it, there is always this professional and personal challenge of one day discovering new horizons”said Kimmich.

At Bayern since 2015, the German international also said he had already been close to leaving Munich. It was in the 2016/2017 season, when Carlo Ancelotti was in charge of the team and he was not playing. “At the time, when I wasn’t playing as much as I would have liked, I thought about leaving the club for a while. So Carlo left, I was a regular player again, we won everything and the question never arose again”explained the Bavarian midfielder who has played 39 matches this season with the German champions, scored three goals and provided 12 assists.
