KQ’s Subsidiary Fahari Aviation Orders 40 Flying Cars To Lift People, Cargo

Fahari Aviation, a subsidiary of Kenya Airways and EVE UAM is seeking to purchase 40 electric Vertical Take-Off and

Landing (eVTOL) vehicles.

This is a new technology that uses electricity to take off, hover, and land vertically.

The technology helps in avoiding traffic jams by making it easy to move within cities.


This partnership between Fahari Aviation and EVE UAM includes a joint study through a working group to develop and scale the Urban Air Mobility (UAM) market.

It has a business model for cargo drone operations in Kenya. The project is will make its first deliveries by 2026.

According to Kenya Airways CEO Mr. Allan Kivaluka, urban air mobility is the future of transport.

He says, “we are honored to be the champions of this in the region. The journey to realize the dream of eVTOL vehicles in Kenya is on course and the partnership with EVE UAM. It is a key achievement for us as part of the strategy to adopt new technologies. This forms our growth strategy for the sustainable development of Africa.”

“This is a new chapter of the Eve and Fahari Aviation partnership. It will strengthen both companies’ commitment to establishing the foundations of urban air mobility. These foundations will sustain and support the ecosystem for urban air mobility in Kenya. Today’s announcement confirms that our collaboration is evolving successfully,” said Andre Stein, co-CEO of Eve.

Fahari Aviation focuses on innovative and sustainable solutions to address different issues such as traffic jams, sightseeing, and parcel delivery.

The Kenya Airways subsidiary organizes an annual contest known as the KQ Fahari Innovation challenge.

The contest challenges individuals and corporates to come up with innovations.

However, the innovations should address problems around customer experience and sustainability in the aviation industry.
