DP Ruto mourns mama Duba Abdirahman

Deputy President William Ruto is mourning Mama Duba Abdirahman who passed away following a road accident.

In a statement on Tuesday, the DP remembered Mama Duba as a peace and women issues champion for the country.

“Mama Duba was a great champion of peace and women issues in Wajir and the country at large. May Allah place her soul in peace and give Sabr and Imaan to the family. Rest in peace,” Ruto said.

She died in an accident along the Wajir-Hadado highway.

Eldas MP Aden Keynan said Mama Duba was an active and ardent advocate for regional peace and was also a dependable voice on gender-based issues.

“Despite elevating the status and voice of women in the region, her indelible support and stellar personality brought honour and dignity to the community and the vast region, both as a mother figure and a role model,” he said.

“With profound sadness, I would like to convey my message of condolences to the husband, my brother, Commissioner Mohamed Sheikh (Hambarsade), and the extended family for the tragic loss.”

East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP Oburu Odinga also condoled with the family of the late.

“It is with a very heavy heart that I have learnt of the unfortunate demise of Mama Duba Abdirahman following a fatal road accident along the Wajir-Hadado highway. We pray that God will give the family the much-needed strength and comfort they need at this time,” he said in a tweet.
