In an unfortunate turn of events, a 49-year-old nurse and her two daughters were shot dead by her husband in the US before turning the gun on himself.
However, according to the victim’s brother, Moses Muchemi, who spoke to the media on Monday, December 5, the family was doing well financially and socially before the homicide and suicide incidents.
“There were no red flags,” stated Muchemi as he tried to wrap his head around the death of four family members.
“They were jovial and loved Kenyan food especially mutura except the father who enjoyed Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC),” he recalled.

Muchemi stated the family was in the country for burial, but the husband flew back to the US first. After completing some post-burial activities, the woman and her daughters travelled to the US.
“I tried reaching out to her after she went back. We talked through Whatsapp but there was no indication that something was wrong,” Muchemi added.
He was heartbroken that the husband did not reach out to him for any prior discussions, noting, ”I wish the husband would have talked to me or anyone if there was any issue. I thought we were close”.
In addition, Muchemi stated that his late sister and her husband were on such good terms to the point others envied their marriage.
She and her husband were in the process of starting their healthcare company before their tragic death.
“We hope to get closure on the issue since he did not leave a note to detail his reason for the drastic actions.
I hope the police officer go through their phones to get to the root of the problem,” the distraught brother stated.
According to the brother, she started as a manager and had a short stint in politics during the late President Mwai Kibaki’s era.
“She paid for my school fees on campus, and she did not give up on me she even wanted to give me money to start a business but I chose to go to school,” he narrated.
According to a US police report, the woman and her eldest daughter had multiple gunshot wounds, while the youngest daughter only had one gunshot wound.
