Why Winnie Odinga Missed Ruto’s Meeting With EALA MPs

Winnie Odinga missed Deputy President William Ruto’s meeting with Members of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) due to prior engagements. According to Odinga’s office, Odinga did not attend the meeting due to a prior commitment on the same day of the meeting. Odinga is the daughter of opposition leader Raila Odinga and one of the few female members of the Kenyan Parliament. The meeting with Ruto was part of the EALA’s consultative meetings for Zimbabwe, Uganda, and Tanzania. It was held in Nairobi on December 5, 2019.
