Murkomen Reveals Designs & Traffic Rules Introduced on Thika Superhighway
Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen revealed that the government was introducing new road features along Thika Superhighway to enforce traffic laws compliance and curb road carnages.
Appearing before the National Assembly committee on transport on Wednesday, December 7, Murkomen indicated that four footbridges would be erected along the highway.
He explained that this would give pedestrians safer options for crossing the busy road.
The sections selected for the footbridge project include Juja High point Stage near Centurion Hotel and Kihunguro section.

Other measures taken include the fencing of the section of the road which is aimed at preventing pedestrians from crossing at undesignated areas.
Murkomen added that various road agencies would also work with transport stakeholders to enforce the pickup and drop-off points along the highway.
