Father & Son Die in Tsavo Plane Crash
-
Two people died on Thursday, December 8, in a plane crash at Tsavo National Park.
Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) confirmed the incident.
The two, a father and son, died on the spot.
Reports indicated that the accident occurred at 10 am. The aircraft is owned by Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
Speaking to the press, Teresia Igiria, the Head of Corporate Communications at the KWS, affirmed that more details would be released at a later time.
“For now, we can’t share the identities of the victims until their relatives are informed,” Igiria told The Standard.
The incident reflects a similar accident on September 21, 2022, after a light aircraft landed at the Nairobi National Park, a few metres off the Southern Bypass.
Four passengers on board, were, however, rescued from the wreckage, according to Lang’ata OCPD Monica Kimani.
She later affirmed that the aircraft had developed mechanical problems leading to engine failure.
