Super Metro launches first CBD-Kitengela-Kikuyu electric bus – Capital Business

NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 15 – Super Metro has unveiled its first fleet of electric bus as the company transition to clean vehicles.
The bus new bus will ply the Central Business District (CBD)-Kitengela and CBD-Kikuyu routes.
Through BasiGo, an electronic bus company, the passenger service vehicle (PSV) company has a 25-seater electric bus.
BasiGo seeks to provide environmental-friendly transport solutions on the African continent.
The firm plans to supply more than 15 electric buses to transport saccos in Nairobi. The firm has also partner with Citi Hoppa.
The model acquired by Super Metro is a K6, a 25-seat electric bus, with a 250 kilometer range and less than four hours recharge time.
This comes after the Electronic Sector Association of Kenya (ESAK) signed an MoU with the Association for Electronic Mobility and Development in Africa – a step towards improving the visibility of the transport landscape in Kenya and Africa at large.
There is also an electric company by the name ROAM that has since partnered with Kenya Mpya Sacco with its buses operating along Thika Road.
