Price & Features of New Peugeot Landtrek Assembled by Kenyan Company
French automobile maker Peugeot officially launched its latest pick-up truck, the Peugeot Landtrek in the Kenyan market on Tuesday, February 21 in Nairobi.
The new truck was unveiled at the French Embassy by the French Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade, Olivier Becht.
According to Becht, the car model was assembled by the Kenyan company Urysia and is the outcome of a true industrial partnership.
“Landtreck vehicle assembly integrates local job creation, technology transfer, and on-site employee training.

“This is a very concrete example of the win-win partnerships that France wants to develop with African countries,” Becht revealed.
First released in 2020, the Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) marked the return of the Peugeot brand to the pick-up market by offering double cab versions with 6 seats, diesel, as well as a multitude of accessories to meet the users’ professional and family activities.
Currently, only sold in markets in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa, the car has some amazing features at very affordable price ranges.
The 4×4 pick-up stands out by offering one of the most generous spaces without this affecting the dimensions of the tipper since it is the most spacious on the market.
Furthermore, the diesel engine has 1.9L displacement and 150 hp thanks to a variable geometry 16-valve turbocharger, and 6-speed manual gearbox while the petrol engine is turbocharged with 2.4L displacement and power output of 210 hp and 320 Nm of torque with a 6-speed manual gearbox and Automatic.
The truck is available both in manual and automatic transmission with power steering and a ground clearance of up to 235 mm.
According to CCP, the truck carries 5 people and is fitted with 4 doors, an air conditioner, a heater, an antiLock braking system, central locking, and power windows.
Furthermore, the truck is fitted with safety and entertainment features as well as other comfort and convenience.
While the truck’s price for the Kenyan market was not revealed at the launch, it retails for about Ksh4.1 million (R599,000) in South Africa and about Ksh3.1 million (AED89,000) in the United Arab Emirates.

Introduced into the Kenyan market in 1958, Urysia Limited is the sole importer and distributor of Peugeot in Kenya and the East African region.
PSA Groupe and Urysia Limited signed a contract to assemble Peugeot brand vehicles in Kenya in 2017 in a ceremony presided over by former president Uhuru Kenyatta.
The assembly project was scheduled to commence in June 2017 with an annual volume of 1000 units being assembled.
