Other roads planned for closure include;  Waiyaki Way between James Gichuru Road and the entrance to the Expressway, Mombasa Road, Langata Road, Harry Thuku Road, the University Way, Koinange Street, Tata Road, Wakiihuri and Bunyala Road.

According to KeNHA, the roads would be closed between Saturday, September 7 at midnight and Sunday, September 8, at 2 pm.

In its advisory, the Authority advised motorists planning to use the routes to take heed of the traffic signs and guidance from the police and traffic marshals.

“This is to facilitate the 2024 Nairobi City Marathon. Motorists are advised to follow the traffic signs and guidance as directed by the Police and Traffic Marshals,” KeNHA announced.

Motorists were also directed to use alternative routes to avoid causing disruptions along the above-mentioned roads. Those seeking to use the University Way were urged to utilize the Kenyatta and Moi Avenues and Murang’a Road.

Meanwhile, vehicle owners planning to use the Uhuru Highway, Koinange Street and Harry Thuku Road were instructed to use the Nairobi Ring-Road Networks through Westlands, Ngara and the Ring Road to Eastlands.

The latest directive comes a week after the Authority announced a temporary traffic disruption at the Haile Selassie roundabout on Uhuru Highway A8 Road between Saturday, August 31 and Tuesday, October 15.

According to KeNHA, the anticipated traffic disruption was due to the planned construction of a pedestrian underpass at the section.

The roads agency noted that during the entire period, police and traffic marshals would be deployed to control the flow of traffic.
