Jimi Wanjigi Claims Police Trailing Him & Jamming Communication at His Muthaiga Residence
Businessman Jimi Wanjigi who has consistently been forced to grapple with several police raids at his Muthaiga residence on Friday raised concerns of being under surveillance by unmarked cars.
Taking to his X account, Wanjigi said that the occupants of the vehicles parked outside of his residence are actively jamming communication inside his house.
“Why are unmarked vehicles outside my residence in Muthaiga for the last one week? This is clearly harassment on me and my family, this surveillance is unprecedented!” The businessman asked on X.
Accompanying the post were several pictures of the vehicles with some of them clearly equipped with antennas which could be the reason behind the blocked communication in devices within his home.

The surveillance, which he says has been happening for over a week is despite a court order issued to police barring them from accessing his compound.
The order was issued by High Court Judge Joe Omido following Irene Nzisa Wanjigi’s application to the court following an August 8 police raid at their residence.
Issued on September 11, the court order also warned Acting IG Gilbert Masengeli and any of his police officers from confiscating or destroying any property from the businessman’s home.
Wanjigi’s wife stated in an affidavit to the court that the police officers gained entry into their house by breaking the gate, doors, CCTV cameras and lighting equipment within the residence.
She also claimed that the officers confiscated property including communications devices like 6 phones, iPads, laptops and other expensive gadgets.
Wanjigi’s wife claims that her, her children and the property inside her residence have nothing to do with Wanjigi’s activism so they shouldn’t be treated like they are.
A hearing was set for September 24. The August 8 raid occurred late into the evening after a tense day of a police stand-off outside his home.
They were however unsuccessful in arresting Wanjigi. The police had accused Wanjigi for funding the Gen-Z protests that had plagued the nation for weeks.
This is not the first time the billionaire is experiencing similar raids as there have been similar cases reported both in 2017 and 2022.
