Company Puts 65 Cars on Auction for as Low as Ksh200,000

Nairobi auctioneers Onyango and Tarus on Monday announced that they had placed 65 cars on auction beginning as low as Ksh218,000.

In a list published in local dailies, the company listed tens of cars of different models hosted across different yards ranging from Nairobi to Eldoret.

Potential buyers have been given until September 24 to submit their bids.

In storage are at least 65 cars of different brands, including BMW, Isuzu, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Toyota.

The cheapest car on the list is a 2004 Toyota Probox currently in Nyahururu. The car is on sale for Ksh 218,000.

At least eight other cars; a Nissan Wingroad, Nissan March, Peugeot 308 Auto, Toyota Corolla NZE, Toyota Noah, and Toyota Probox are being auctioned for less than Ksh200,000.

But perhaps the most unbeatable auction deal is one involving the Nissan Juke, which the auctioneers are selling for a mere Ksh 230,000, despite the unit being a 2014 model.

The unit, which typically goes for at least KSh 1.1 million in Kenya, is located at a yard in Eldoret.

As per the advert, the vehicles are sold on an ‘as is where is basis’  and offers should be submitted by September 24, one week after the notice.

In a separate auction, Dalali Traders Auctioneers posted a list of high-end units that potential buyers can bid for ahead of the September 24 public auction.

The list contained 32 units,  including a 2015 Mercedes Benz. Most of the units on auction, however, were for industrial use like excavators and canters.

“The declared purchaser must deposit 25% of the purchase price at the fall of the hammer and the balance be paid within seven days from the auction date,” a statement from Dalali Traders read.
