Mwanda was found dead at his home in Karachuonyo Sub County in Homa Bay. According to reports, his body was found dangling from a tree in what is believed could have been a suicide case.

The worker who spoke to the press revealed that the lecturer did not show any signs of unease at the time he arrived home from the city.

While confirming the incident, Homa Bay County Police Commander Hassan Barua revealed that the lecturer had a meal with his workers on the fateful evening. The lecturer was supposed to travel to Nairobi the next day but as fate would have it, this never came to be.

The officer noted that the lecturer even instructed his workers to milk the cows and carry out other duties at the homestead.

The police who conducted investigations within the deceased’s compound, retrieved a ladder allegedly used by the victim to climb the tree.

During the investigation, the officers also recovered a note allegedly drafted by the lecturer which reportedly beared his wife’s number.

Following the tragic incident, the lecturer’s body was moved to the Rachuonyo South Sub-County Mortuary awaiting  a postmortem.

Barua, speaking to journalists, further called on the residents to speak about their problems to specialists and family instead of hiding their pains which could affect them negatively further down the road.
