CSs Joho, Mbadi & Barasa Announce Fresh Appointments

Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi and his mining counterpart Hassan Joho on Saturday announced fresh appointments to their dockets.

In a gazette notice dated October 4, Joho announced the appointment of Jawahira Hussein Haji and David Pkeu Kapelishwa to be members of the National Mining Corporation.

In his announcement, CS Joho revealed that the two would serve under their new role for three years effective with effect from October 4, 2024. 

CS Joho also appointed Micah Ekusi Lore and Stephen Longoida Labarakwe, to be members of the Board of the Kenya Fisheries Service for three years starting October 4 this year.

Similarly, Treasury CS John Mbadi appointed Muchiri Ngatia to be a member of the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA).

According to CS Mbadi, Ngatia would serve for three years starting October 4 this year. KIPPRA is mandated with providing quality policy advice to the government by conducting policy research and analysis that contribute to the achievement of national long-term development objectives.

Meanwhile, Health CS Dehorah Barsa appointed Stephen Rolands to be a member of the Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority, for three years, with effect from October 4. Barasa also appointed Ibrahim Matende to be a member of the Social Health Authority (SHA), for three years.

Information Communication and Technology (ICT) CS Margaret Ndungu appointed Daniel Rono to be a member of the Board of the Communications Authority of Kenya, for three years starting October 4, 2024.

The CS also appointed Sella Ayimba and Ibrahim Sane to be members of the Board of the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC), for three years, with effect from October 4 this year.

Likewise, the Water and Sanitation Cabinet Secretary Erick Muuga appointed Abraham Cheruiyot to be a member of the Board of Directors of Lake Victoria North Water Works Development Agency. Cheruiyot who is set to commence his work on October 4 will serve under Muuga’s ministry for three years.

The appointments were made in the same gazzette notice announcing several appointments to State boards made by President William Ruto. The Head of State announced the appointment of  retired ACK Bishop Joseph Kagunda, who was tasked with leading the Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya for a period of 3 years.

Ruto also announced the appointment of former Machakos Town MP Victor Kioko Munyaka as Chairperson of the Kenya Animal Genetic Resource Centre for three years. Former Eldoret East MP Joseph Kipchumba Lagat was also appointed Chairperson of the National Mining Corporation for a period of 3 years.
