Gachagua Allies Send Warning to Ruto, Dress Down Ichung’wah in Fire Back Rally
The battle for supremacy in Mt Kenya continued to escalate on Friday with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s allies firing back at the 48 rebel MPs who disassociated themselves from the second in command on Thursday.
Speaking at a roadside rally in Nyeri Town after accompanying the Deputy President to the Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) show, the allies led by Nyandarua Senator John Methu and Embakasi Central MP Mejja Donk also fired at President William Ruto warning of consequences if Gachagua is pushed out of the government.
“There is someone with an agenda to divide Mt.Kenya. If you see a dog, someone must be holding the leash. This message is for the leash holder, Tie your puppets or forget about Mt.Kenya,” Mejja Donk stated during the roadside rally.
Donk further questioned why Gachagua continues to be backed up against a corner despite him agreeing to accommodate the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) into government.

“They brought in Raila into government and we accepted. What does that have to do with Rigathi’s position?” Donk fired as Gachagua observed.
Taking cue from his colleague, John Methu warned that any attempt to force out Gachagua from the government will be met with a similar level of resistance.
“Whatever they decide to do we will respond. We woke up early to vote for you, we are not going to be kicked out,” Methu stated.
Gachagua’s allies also seized the opportunity to pile on National Assembly Majority Leader and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah who they accuse of leading the charge to isolate Gachagua from the government.
“Contain your mouth, you speak too much.” Senator Methu burst into a song targeting the National Assembly Majority leader.
Firing back at the 48 MPs who declared Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki as their direct link to the Executive, Methu dismissed the significance of the Nyahururu Declaration asserting that Gachagua continues to enjoy the popular backing amongst the Mt. Kenya population.
Rigathi has been asking for roads, is that wrong? He has been combating illicit brew. Every time he cracks down, Kindiki loosens the net. Because they don’t want questions, they start attacking Rigathi.”
As his allies went on and on, Gachagua remained silent, observing proceedings atop the sunroof of his car.
A fiery Methu then proceeded to lead the crowd in a popular local song used to shame those who have been disloyal in marriage. The song was aimed at Kimani Ichung’wah much to the amusement of the crowd who joined in and began signing the chorus.
“A person who doesn’t know the other person does not treat them like a person,” one lyric from the song states.
The allies reaffirmed that Gachagua was elected to government, unlike other appointed politicians in UDA’s broad-based government. By this fact, they said that it is only the voters who can remove him from office.
