Mike Sonko Chips In as Efforts to Help Former NTV Journalist Nasibo Kabale Intensify

On Saturday, former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko resolved to chip in to help former Nation Media Group Journalist Nasibo Kabale undergo rehabilitation.

In a statement, Sonko disclosed that he decided to offer the former news reporter help after several Kenyans reached out to him concerning the latter’s health.

The former governor, while reiterating the matter, stated that he was already in touch with Nasibo’s mother and the reporter’s former colleagues.

According to Sonko, necessary action had been taken and the former NTV reporter was already admitted to the Mombasa Women Rehabilitation Centre.

The politician went ahead to commend Nasibo’s former colleagues for their swift action in aiding her just hours after clips of the former journalist went viral.

“I also wish to thank all her friends in the media sector for standing in solidarity with her during this difficult time,” Sonko stated.

The ex-county boss further called on Kenyans to exercise sensitivity towards the matter and desist from publicising Nasibo’s situation.

“It is good to respect Kabale’s family and they do not want any kind of publicity at this time. They have played a very important role through the brother,” Sonko stated.

Sonko’s announcement comes hours after comedian Eric Omondi paid a visit to Nasibo’s mother’s home to inquire about the reporter’s situation.

The self-proclaimed activist in a brief video disclosed that the former health reporter had already been evacuated from the streets and received the necessary help.

Omondi also went ahead to dismiss rumours that the journalist was homeless as alleged by a section of Kenyans online.

“As I am speaking to you, Nasibo is safe and has been flown to a rehabilitation centre with the help of the brother,” Eric Omondi detailed.

“She is fine and will be fine but we needed to know what happened because when I saw the video, there were varying stories about her situation.”
