Fresh Details Emerge on Whereabouts of Abducted Kitengela Brothers in Masengeli Case

After weeks of a probe into the disappearance of two brothers, Jamil and Aslay Longton who disappeared on August 19, fresh details have emerged on their whereabouts.

Taking to her social media platforms, the President of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) Faith Odhiambo revealed that the two brothers were dumped at the Gachie border of Kiambu and Nairobi by their captors.

While confirming their safety, Odhiambo informed Kenyans that the two were secure and that efforts to unite them with their families were underway.

“I am informed that Jamil Longton and his brother Aslam were dumped at the Gachie border of Kiambu and Nairobi by their captors,” stated the LSK boss.

“Every prayer and intervention made a difference. We thank God that they are safe,” she added.

The two brothers were allegedly abducted last month by men in a Subaru vehicle outside their home in Kitengela, Kajiado County. They were abducted alongside activist Bob Njagi.

During the incident, Njagi was forcibly taken by masked individuals from a Kitengela-bound matatu he was travelling in.

Human Rights Societies while condemning the act, claimed Njagi’s abduction was linked to his firm stance in standing in solidarity with Businessman Jimi Wanjigi.

The latest development comes hours after the new Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja refuted claims that the three were abducted by the National Police Service.

Douglas Kanja’s sentiments were echoed by Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Amin Mohamed who also maintained a similar stance.

“I have just taken over but what I can tell you is that we don’t have the ‘Kitengela 3’ with us.  A report was made and we have an active investigation,” Kanja noted.

“We are also urging the people of Kenya with any information (on the same) to come forward,” he added.
