Larry Madowo Exposes European Bashing His Show on Africans

Journalist Larry Madowo on Saturday revealed how his show on CNN is receiving backlash from a foreigner.

Taking to his X, Larry showed screenshots of the emails he has been receiving from a foreigner from Austria who expressed their dissatisfaction over the frequent nature at which his promo on African Voices Change Makers show airs on CNN.

The foreigner expressed his frustration why the promo on an African show, in his opinion, has to be shoved down the throats of an international audince glued to CNN.

“Can you explain to us, what are we to do with your constant “Join Me, African Voices Change Makers? We are in Europe, we are civilized people. What do we have to do with your underdeveloped Africa?”, read part of the email.

The foreigner expressed their displeasure with the promo constantly interrupting CNN’s shows.

“What are we to do with your continuous interrupting the CNN program, with your African Voices Change Makers? Really Annoying”, the statement continued.

Responding to the criticism, Larry wondered why the foreigner was complaining about an African show in an International media house.

“He’s watching a CNN with international in its name but doesn’t want to see any Africa coverage”, Larry wondered.

The African Voices Changemakers is a CNN show hosted by Larry Madowo that highlights Africa’s most dazzling trendsetters who create their subcultures in areas such as travel, fashion, art, music, technology, and architecture.

The show which airs weekly on CNN has in the past featured several African stars including Burna Boy, Kizz Daniel, Davido, and Wole Soyinka just to name a few.

In the show, Madowo highlights outstanding stories and incredible people from across the continent.

Madowo joined the Network in 2021 and has since covered stories around the globe.

He has highlighted coronavirus vaccine inequality, reported on flooding in Nigeria, broadcast from Expo 2020 in Dubai, the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and covered the Kenyan elections and the recent Gen Z protests in Kenya just to mention a few.
