MP’s Wife Shortlisted for Plum SRC Chairperson Job

Juliana Mwikali Kivasu, the spouse to Mbooni Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Erastus Kivasu Nzioka, has been shortlisted alongside 8 others for the position of the chairperson of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).

The list consists of 9 candidates shortlisted to succeed the current chairperson of SRC Lyn Mengich who assumed office in 2018. The SRC chairperson’s office tenure lasts for a term of 6 years.

Others shortlisted include Musangi Mutua, James Wahome Ndengwa, Osman Hassan Ibrahim, and Rachel Muga Monyocho (Kisii).

Others on the list are Geoffrey Obonyo, Abraham Kiptoo Serem, Sammy Chepkwony, and Joseph Vincent Onyango.

The nine were selected from a pool of 70 applicants who had made the application from across the country.

According to the notice, 4 candidates will be interviewed on October 8 starting from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm and the remaining the following day on October 9. 

The interviews will be done at Harambee House, 5th floor boardroom with candidates expected to arrive 30 minutes before the starting time.

The candidates are required to bring their national identity card/ passport, academic and professional certificates and transcripts, and any other supporting documents and testimonials for verification.

Additionally, they are required to have valid clearance from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), a registered Credit Reference Bureau (CRB), and police clearance.

Further, a self-declaration form duly stamped by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Commission for University Education (CUE), and a recommendation letter from relevant professional bodies and associations will be required.

The public has been encouraged to participate in the interview by sharing any credible information about the candidates to the chairperson of the selection panel at Harambee House on or before October 7, 2024 at 5pm.

MP Kivasu Nzioka was elected through the Wiper Democratic Movement–Kenya (WDM-K) and is serving his second term in Parliament.
